Prof. Nakatsuji and Dr. Aiba to Appear in NHK World Segment on iPS Cell Applications

As part of a series on advanced technology in Japan, NHK World will broadcast on the 12th J-TECH: Heart to Heart, a profile of forefront applications of iPS cell research. The program is scheduled to cover the following:

• iPS cells in use -- cardiac toxicology testing using heart muscle cells
• What are iPS cells? How are they cultivated?
• An overview and corporate history of ReproCELL Inc
• Development anecdotes -- how technical barriers were overcome
• Future applications -- aiding drug discovery targeting neurodegeneration

A portion of the program was filmed at Kyoto University's Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS), and iCeMS Director Norio Nakatsuji and Senior Lecutrer Kazuhiro Aiba contributed to the segment's production.
