Prof. Yamanaka Profiled in NHK Special, with Contributions from Prof. Nakatsuji

The work of Kyoto University's Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS) Prof. Shinya Yamanaka, concurrently Director of the university's Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA), will be featured this Saturday in national television broadcaster NHK's documentary series NHK Special. The roughly one-hour program, airing at 22:00 on the 18th, will include an interview with Prof. Yamanaka as part of its description of the impact his induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell discoveries have had on medical science.

iCeMS Director Norio Nakatsuji also contributed to the production of the program, which in part describes how human iPS cells can be used to make cardiac muscle cells.
