Danish government officials paid a visit to Kyoto University's Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS) on November 30 to learn about the institute's research focus and international collaboration efforts.

Mr. Henrik Brandt Jensen, Director of Asia-Pacific, Extenal LinkInvest In Denmark of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ms. Rumi Iida of Royal Danish Embassy in Tokyo met with iCeMS Administrative Director Shinji Tomita, Innovation Management group leader Shintaro Sengoku, as well as other members from the iCeMS.

Following a brief presentation about the work being carried out at the iCeMS the delegates gave an introduction to the Extenal LinkDanish Stem Cell Center (DanStem). The DanStem is a new center that aims to fully integrate basic stem cell research with translational, clinical output. These talks prompted a wide-ranging discussion covering aspects of stem cell biology to innovation management. Both parties agreed to maintain contact, with an aim toward extending future scientific cooperation.
