NIMS-MANA to Hold WPI Joint Symposium in Tsukuba

The Japanese National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS)'s International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA) will organize a symposium on the latest developments in the Japanese education and science ministry's World Premier International Research Center (WPI) initiative. This event is mainly targeted at high school students, and will be held on Saturday, November 24 at Tsukuba International Congress Center in Ibaraki.

This is the second in the series of WPI joint symposia, with the one organized last November by Kyushu University's International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I²CNER) being the first. The WPI program consists of six leading institutions nationwide, including the NIMS-MANA and Kyoto University's Institute for Integrated-Cell Material Sciences (iCeMS). Details and application instructions can be found on the symposium website. All information, as well as the event itself, are in Japanese.

iCeMS senior lecturer Kouichi Hasegawa will appear as one of the featured speakers.
