Susumu Kitagawa awarded the 2013 Kyoto University Shi-Shi Award

On June 27, Kyoto University Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences Director and the Graduate School of Engineering Professor Susumu Kitagawa was awarded the 2013 Kyoto University Shi-Shi Award. This award is given to individuals for their outstanding efforts and achievements in research and medicine. The ceremony was held at the Kyoto University Clock Tower Centennial Hall.

Joining Professor Kitagawa as first time recipients of the award were Center for iPS Cell Research and Application Director Shinya Yamanaka; Asian and African Studies Professor Yasushi Kosugi; Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere Professor Shuichi Kawai; Kyoto University Board of Directors Deputy and Agency of Health Safety and Environment Director Koichiro Oshima; and Graduate school of Medicine and Medical Chemistry Professor Shigekazu Nagata.
