6th iCeMS Seminar - Dr. Lars Hinrichsen

Clathrin-mediated endocytosis is the fundamental pathway for receptor mediated uptake of cargo into eukaryotic cells. Dr. Lars Hinrichsen spent most of his research career so far trying to find out what the basic principles of this pathway are and what functions the various different molecules have. In recent times, he has focused on the chemokine receptors CCR5 and CXCR4 and the differences in clathrin coated structures observable under the electron microscope. He is particularly interested in finding out whether these structures have separate functional roles in the cell. In the seminar, he will give an overview of his progress so far. We welcome your participation! Refreshments will be served (9:45~).
