47th iCeMS Seminar: Dr. Hiroshi Yoshikawa, Ms. Juliane Oswald

The quantitative control and evaluation of cell behavior on soft surfaces with well-defined physical/biochemical properties attracts much attention in view of a fundamental interest in cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix interactions. In this talk, we introduce the overview of our research on (1) the development of a new technological platform to quantitatively evaluate adhesion strength of cells on soft surfaces, and (2) the regulation of cell behavior on hydrogels with tunable mechanical properties and biofunctionalized membranes.
