166th iCeMS Seminar: Dr Ismael Rafols

Even for researchers actively engaged in interdisciplinary research, the meaning of interdisciplinarity, its importance, and the ways it can be measured are not fully understood. Particularly for WPI research centers, in which interdisciplinarity is one of their primary objectives, a general understanding of this phenomenon is of crucial importance. As an expert in this field, Dr. Ismael Rafols can help us bridge this gap. In this seminar, he will provide an introduction to the concepts of interdisciplinarity and the various tools that have been developed to capture and measure it. He will also show some of the challenges that interdisciplinary research faces, as well as some of the organizational problems associated with it.
