iCeMS participates in AAAS meeting at Washington DC

iCeMS participated in the February 14–17 annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in Washington DC and held a booth exhibition together with other WPI institutes.

The AAAS, the publisher of the scientific journal Science, is an international organization dedicated to advancing science around the world. Its annual meeting attracts attendees including scientists, policymakers, and journalists. Parents and children also enjoy scientific experiences at the “Family Science Days”, held in the meeting. The meeting is designed for wide range of attendees to learn about latest science.

This year, attendees communicated through more than 300 sessions including scientific briefings, lectures, workshops, business meetings, e-poster presentations.

There were also booth exhibitions, where 44 companies, universities, and other organizations ran their booths. At the WPI booth they distributed a booklet on interdisciplinary researches being conducted at WPI institutes, and the communicators at the booth explained their institute’s latest research as well as their international research environment. The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and Japan Association of Communication for Science and Technology (JACST) also had their booths facing to WPI’s, and together the Japanese booths made their presence even stronger.

The 2020 meeting will be held in Seattle next February.
