第186回 アイセムスセミナー: Elisa Barea 博士

Porous coordination polymers (PCPs) consist of metal ions/clusters connected by organic spacers to give rise to the formation of open crystalline networks through a self-assembly process. Thanks to their open structures, PCPs can act as hosts of a variety of guest molecules. In this seminar, the versatility of PCPs will be shown presenting examples of their application in two areas of high social impact. The first one regards the use of PCPs for the capture and degradation of toxic gases and vapors (i. e. models of warfare agents), which might be of interest for the development of protective self-cleaning materials. The second area concerns the use of PCPs as carriers of non conventional Ru-based anticancer metallodrugs, with the aim of developing more efficient anticancer therapies.
