第197回 アイセムスセミナー: 高木 雄一郎 博士

Mediator is an essential regulator of eukaryotic transcription. It is a gigantic multi-protein complex composed of 21 subunits with a molecular mass exceeding 1 Mega daltons.

The structural complexity of Mediator has been a huge roadblock for structure-function studies on Mediator. We have developed a new technology, which enables us to reconstitute the 21-subunit full Mediator complex, opening new avenues to understand how Mediator functions during transcription, and why mutations disrupt its function, leading toward determining the transcription activation mechanisms by Mediator.
