The Japanese science ministry (MEXT) has chosen two young iCeMS researchers for this year's Commendation for Science and Technology Prize.

Program−Specific Associate Professor Hideki Hirori is awarded for his studies on the generation of ultra-intense THz radiation sources and nonlinear spectroscopy, and Program−Specific Research Center Associate Professor Akitsu Hotta for his studies on correcting genetic mutation in iPS cells.

The two researchers received the prize under the category of "The Young Scientists' Prize", which is given to scientists who show remarkably high capacity for research and development.

The awards ceremony will be held on April 20, 2015 at the MEXT in Tokyo.
