Metabolic Reprogramming of Macrophages by IL-10
It is well appreciated that interleukin 10 (IL-10) is an anti-inflammatory cytokine that plays a critical role in the control of immune responses. However, its mechanisms of action remain largely unknown. In my seminar, I will discuss new mechanistic insight into the inhibitory effect of IL-10, and will specifically focus on how IL-10 inhibits inflammatory response in macrophages via controlling cellular metabolism. Moreover, I will discuss the relevance of our findings to inflammatory diseases in a mouse model of colitis and inflammatory bowel disease patients.
