[Nobel Week] Distinguished Professor Susumu Kitagawa at the 2025 Nobel Prize Award Ceremony

On December 10, the 2025 Nobel Prize Award Ceremony was held at the Stockholm Concert Hall, where Distinguished Professor Susumu Kitagawa of iCeMS was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

The ceremony was conducted in a solemn atmosphere in the presence of the Swedish Royal Family, with researchers and invited guests from around the world in attendance.

During the ceremony, following an introduction highlighting his scientific achievements, Professor Kitagawa was presented with the Nobel Prize medal and diploma by Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden. As Professor Kitagawa bowed deeply to the audience, the hall was filled with warm applause.

Following the award ceremony, the Nobel Banquet was held at Stockholm City Hall. Professor Kitagawa served as escort to Crown Princess Victoria and was seated next to her during the dinner. They exchanged conversation not only on science, but also on culture and international exchange, enjoying a memorable evening unique to the Nobel Banquet.
