The 2nd iPOPA2 Held at iCeMS

The 2nd International Frontier Interdisciplinary Forum on Crystalline Porous Particles (iPOPA2) was held at the iCeMS Main Building on November 17–18, 2025. The forum brought together leading researchers from around the world—including Japan, China, Singapore, India, and the United States—to discuss a wide range of topics such as metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), structural analysis, application development, and hybrid systems. The two-day event featured lively and in-depth scientific discussions throughout.

The first day opened with welcome remarks by Distinguished Prof Susumu Kitagawa (iCeMS), followed by a plenary lecture delivered by Prof Hiroshi Kitagawa of Kyoto University. The program continued with invited talks across three thematic sessions: New Materials, Advanced Characterization, and the first half of Application, showcasing the latest research achievements.

The second day began with a plenary lecture by Prof Xiao-Ming Chen from Sun Yat-Sen University. This was followed by the second half of the Application session and an engaging poster session featuring presentations by early-career researchers. The final session, Hybrid System, highlighted cutting-edge developments in hybrid materials research.

The forum concluded with closing remarks by Prof Yunha Chen of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who also announced the upcoming iPOPA3, raising anticipation for the next gathering.
