She also hoped to visit iCeMS, where Kitagawa serves as Director and which is known for its world top level research. The main purpose of her visit was to communicate information about the new journal to Kyoto University and iCeMS scientists, and to expand and deepen her connections with them.

Cobley first delivered a talk about an overall framework of the new journal. She then had a frank discussion with the researchers and exchanged candid opinions about strategic ways to have papers successfully accepted by journals, or what the editors look for in submitted papers.
