iCeMS invites high school students from Singapore and Kyoto to its Science Festival

On November 10, iCeMS held the “iCeMS Science Festival”, and about fifty students from Singapore and about thirty students from Kyoto visited iCeMS.

On the day of the event, twelve booths were set by the iCeMS scientists. The students went around the booths to experience science activities such as experiments and observations, and had a fun time talking with the scientists. A quiz session was held at the end of the day, based on what the students learned at the booths. Students enjoyed the fun quiz that asked them for unique answers rather than correct answers. In the closing movie “Messages to Future Scientists and Technologists”, messages from the iCeMS scientists were delivered to the students, and the Festival concluded with a round of applause.

One of the students commented that “the Festival was so much fun. iCeMS researchers were friendly and they told us so many interesting stories, that changed the image I had for science”.
