iCeMS-SJTU Internship Concludes with Final Presentations
On September 5, iCeMS hosted the final presentations for the iCeMS-SJTU Internship Program, marking the conclusion of a six-week internship for three students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). The event took place in the iCeMS Seminar Room, with opening remarks delivered by research Administrative Director Prof Kazumitsu Ueda, who acknowledged the interns’ hard work.
The interns presented their research on various topics: Qilin He (who worked with Uesugi Lab) focused on polyphenol-induced protein degradation, Hankai Zeng (Kengaku Lab) explored mechanisms of neural migration, and Song Yuchengze (Namasivayam Lab) discussed DNA modification detection using nanopore sequencing.
Following the presentations, the students shared their thoughts on the program, expressing that their research experiences at iCeMS were highly rewarding. They also mentioned that during their free time, they had the chance to explore Kyoto and Tokyo, enjoying local sights and cuisine, making the entire time in Japan a truly fulfilling experience.
The iCeMS-SJTU Internship Program continues to strengthen collaboration between Kyoto and Shanghai, providing a valuable platform for young researchers to grow and exchange knowledge.
