iCeMS to establish two on-site laboratories with UCLA and Taiwan

Kyoto University has approved iCeMS’ plans to establish two on-site laboratories, “Quantum Nano Medicine Research Center” and “Center for Integrated Biosystems”.

The Quantum Nano Medicine Research Center, which is to be established jointly with the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), will be located in Kyoto University while the Center for Integrated Biosystems with Taiwanese Academia Sinica will be placed in Taiwan.

These centers will aim for extensive research in each realm, collaborations with local academics and industries, and exchange of researchers and students.

iCeMS will have three on-site laboratories when these two are launched. The Smart Materials Research Center, established in Thailand jointly by iCeMS and the Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC) last summer, was one of the first laboratories chosen for the Kyoto University’s On-site Laboratory Initiative.
